Get ready for a tail-wagging good time with our Tales for Tails program! Every 2nd Saturday of the month, kids aged 5 to 14 can read to our dogs. It’s a fun way for children to practice reading and for our dogs to enjoy some company.
But first, here’s what you need to know:
- Space is limited! Make sure to reserve your spot.
- Parents and children must attend our Volunteer Orientation on the 1st Saturday of the month.
- During Tales for Tails, your child will sit in a kennel and read to a dog. We have plenty of books, but feel free to bring your favorite. Just remember, if a book is left with a dog, it might get chewed on.
Want to join? After attending Orientation, email volunteer@icarearkansas.com to reserve a spot for Tales for Tails. While the program runs from 10 am to noon, your child doesn’t have to stay the whole time. Please arrive at 10 am so we can get everyone settled in with their furry reading buddy.
Join us for a barking good time!
Volunteer Orientation – Required for All New Volunteers
Join us for our Volunteer Orientation! It happens on the first Saturday of every month at 10 am. This one-hour session is super important. You’ll fill out essential paperwork and watch training videos about caring for our dogs and cats. But, heads up! Our training room is cozy, so space is limited. Please email us at volunteer@icarearkansas.com to reserve your spot.
